In and Out August

Well hello there . . . I Thought I would write a quick fun post with my current Ins and Outs

1. Healthy Hair - Especially new hair care finds. I'm currently trying out the aussie 2 in 1 leave in conditioner and volumizer but am now looking into the volumizing tonic thanks to @5andra's new post. Her hair looks amazing
2. Starting School again - the job market for me has been a bit rocky and so I decided to start grad school this fall. I'm very excited, and a little nervous but my first class is Wednesday Night :)
3. Learning to call the boyfriend my Fiance, wedding planning aside, I just like the feeling that we'll be spending a lot of time together. It makes up for the long distance this past year.
4. Boyfriend Jeans from Anthropologie, these are the most comfiest pair of jeans I have ever worn.

1. Commuting to school this semester, not the ideal situation given its 2 hours away
2. The small traces of fine lines, I need to look into some treatments in the near future.
3. Summer Heat - I've had enough bring in the fall weather asap pretty please !
4. Reality TV - what ever happened to having good shows on TV? I am so ready for Fall TV (not sure if I'll have the time to watch it, but hey at least I know it'll be there in my Tivo waiting for me !

Disco Brite

Inspired by all the recent beauty nail posts I thought I would add my 2 cents too :)

Last time I was at the mall I discovered this new line of nail polishes by L.A. Girl . The Disco Brites Collection that is get this - supposed to glow in the dark under black light. Tacky? Yes ! Did I still purchase them? Absolutley !!

The two colors I went with were :

Retro: A Mustard Yellow and Dance Craze : A Coral / Orange Color. I apologize for the bad quality, I have resorted to using the blackberry since my laptop is not working and I'm using the PC with no connection to my camera.

But for better quality pictures of the polishes you can refer to this ebay page

Hello Again :)

I have to start off with saying that I really miss you guys ! :( I have been away from the "blog" world for a bit, and I think it's about time I start typing again !

Now that I am officially a Bride 2 Be,I still can't register that in my head yet, I've been spending the last few weeks doing a lot of browsing on good ol google. The thing about being an ethnic bride (indian, punjabi to be exact) and planning a multicultural wedding (with a groom who is from Fiji and is hindu) I have had a lot of fun looking for ideas that will help blend both our traditional cultures and who we are stylistically today.

I'm thinking about sharing a few of my experiences in a new blog - that will be mainly wedding related, and continue to post all my beauty related experiences here.

Thank you all for reading my blog and tweets and I hope to be sharing all of my new wedding planing posts with you soon too ! :)

Well . . . It's Official

If you follow my twiiter, you may already know this . . .

In my last post, I mentioned going to Catalina Island with the BF and he proposed and I said yes :) so I am officially engaged. I have to admit, I was really, really, really suprised - now that I look back on it I should have seen all the signs, but I'm glad I was so oblivious to it all because the weekend was perfect.

The proposal:

We arrived in Catalina, on the ferry Friday from Long Beach, CA. The Island is amazing, and if you ever have the time to go visit, I highly reccomend it. It feels like a little slice of the medditerian in California.

We arrived, and checked into a lovely bed and breakfast / boutique hotel. Spent the rest of the day walking around the small shops.

After a lovely and romantic dinner, we walked out to the beach (about .5 mile away) and at first I was like um.. I don't know about the beach at night - what if it's not safe (this comes after being on a law and order kick for a few months - hehe ) but he was insistant on going - so we arrived - sat at our own lil cabana table and out of the blue he gets oh so serious and then before I know it - hes down on one knee - "states my whole name (whichis quite long) and asks me to marry him"

I of course was teary eyed, and suprised and amazed, but I muttered out a yes and well the rest is history :) !! We spent the rest of the weekend just relaxing on the island, and kept it to oursleves until Sunday or so :)

You might see a lil shift in this blog, due to the circumstances :) Watch for wedding, planning and decorating ideas in the near future.

I will blog pictures soon, I have had a lil mishap with my laptop and well, I can't really upload at the moment. Just thought I would share the good news with all of the lovely people who take their time to read this blog, or my tweets.
