Hair Products I Regret Buying : TAG

This tag is not new by any means, but i thought I would update it with just hair products and share a few things that I have picked up and are not worth the hype!

It's been a while since I have done a tag, so I tag the following:

Kristin from BonBonRose
Hachii from Beauty-Bargain
Jilessa P from Stylemansion
Superficial girl from Superficialgirls
Fantastic from Suka and Spice
Lotus from Krazy Lotus

and ALL of the blog readers if you haven't done this post

The Award for: Product That Did Nothing At All
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Salt-Spray

I was really excited last summer, I thought that maybe the beachy wave would be mine. I heard a lot about different salt-sprays, and so without much research I decided to go with the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Salt-Spray. I was hoping it would accomodate the darkness in my hair and not dry it out - just give my hair some texture. Well it did nothing, no volume, no texture.

The Award for: Overpriced Product
Matrix Amplify Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner
I know a lot of people like this product, but for me it wasn't that special. It didn't really provide any lift or volume. It was the same as other Matrix shampoos and conditioners that I have used. I have found other drug store brands to work much better (Dove I'm talking to you :) ). I think for the price it just isn't worth it.

And Lastly . . . . . .

The Award for: Right Product but Wrong Hair

I know some people swear by this product, and for a few of my girlfriends and family members it works great. But for me peresonally, it's just way to heavy for my flat hair. I would rather use a hair mask, and occasionally a hair treatment like CHI (which just works better for my hair). I think its a good product, but the bottle just sits there.

Maybe these products work for you? But it wasn't for me.

Product Review: Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel

I think we all have that one day, when we look into the mirror and we do not like what we see. I'm sure that what we want is not always what we have, but there is a point where you start noticing certain things, for me its dull skin, dry skin, enlarged pores, and the faintest lines around my eyes and those infamous laugh lines.

So lately, I've been trying to look for products that work well for me .... and I kept hearing a lot of wonderful things about the Avon Anew Clinical Peel.

I first heard about this in a few magazines, but then @Trucco905 mentioned this product as well - so ever since then I have been meaning to pick up. The thing about it being an avon product, I knew i could find a local seller and not have to deal with the S&H mumbo jumbo. So about 2 weeks ago my mom came home from visiting a friend and brought me some Avon goodies - and lo and behold she had picked up the Retexturing Peel :)

I held off on doing the post, because I wanted to try out the product before I put it out there - and I have to say that after 2 weeks I am happy to report that I am starting to see the difference.

The first day, I saw that my skin looked less dull. As I've used it now religiously, ever other day at night I am starting to see my skin "coming back to life" as I like to call it. It just seems to have a better glow about it. I think I will wait until I finish off the pack, before I see if it has made any huge changes in my pore size - but I think its a great alternative for us girls looking for a At-Home system for skin renewal.

{What I have Left of the Product after 2 weeks}

What types of products have you used for skin renewal? And what are some of your favorites?

Happy Friday

Today is a good day!

Reason #1 it is Friday

Reason #2 it's a 3 day weekend here!

And reason #3 I found a pair of booties for fall that I adore. And they on sale at Charlette Russe.

Now I admit I am not a huge fan of their shoes, yes they are cheap but most of the time they feel cheap - but these are cute and comfy.

What are you doing this Friday?
